SISTER
There’s a duality in myself,*
With SISTER, I am exploring and celebrating the feminine duality. A proposal where I symbolically reconcile opposites of our culture such as:
the angel in the houase/femme fatale
ovulation/menstruation
body/mind
immanence/transcendence
There is a Juergen Teller campaign image for CDG from the early 1990’s showing two girls, one with pink hair and the other with blue hair. I have always loved the complicity of their looks and their smiles. That was the starting point of SISTER: to transmit the same energy.
SISTER is my tribute to those two women who meet and move forward together. But also to the acceptance of the ambiguity and contradiction that shapes the identity of each one of them.
Baroque pearls, onyx, quartz, silver and gold are combined in SISTER as a metaphor for that unspoken connection between women of all times and places. A collection where black and white or silver and gold align in the paradox of duality embodied in the figure of the sister.
